Bracknell living room remodel

V2 1 Living room.jpeg

Sumit and Rena contacted me to help design their separate living and dining rooms into one open plan space.  Currently divided by a wall intended to be knocked through.  The living room was overdue for a refresh as it was stuck in a black and white theme which didn't take advantage of the south facing light from the patio doors.  The dining room used for family meals, was also Rena's WFH space. The family were keen to see the new space designed and zoned in new decor as one open plan space to accommodate all their new ideas.  .

The first task was to identify which doors to block up from the hallway.  I I created two designs of each option each complete with furnishings, decor, lighting and accessories.  You can see above the difference between the two layouts. The final result was to block up the dining room door as this area had to accommodate a dining table and chairs and Rena's desk. The living room was designed with a TV wall with a marble finish and fire, with inset niches and a corner sofa opposite and two lounge chairs.   The decor had a light contemporary touch with a silver and concrete wallpaper and pale grey paint to unify the two spaces, with accents of marble, black and ochre.
