Catherine's 1960s refurb

Annie did a great job of designing my 1960's flat. She was able to take the many, many ideas in my head and create something I would have never thought of but absolutely loved. Thank you Annie.

Mid-Century modern
refurb and update

Catherine contacted me shortly after getting the keys to her new 2 bed 1960s flat.  This was a full refurb, ripping plaster off walls, plumbing and electrics etc.  The flat was spacious and light but such a blank canvas as it desperately needed a makeover.  Catherine had difficulty imagining how she could renovate it and what colours or space layout would be best suited to the space.  This is where she needed my visualisation and interior design expertise. We started with what Catherine knows and loves,  mid-century modern, metals and dark blue, so the beginnings of a scheme.

We also included a neutral blue/grey to offset the dark blue colour palette.  Adding a further nod to the period we also included playful geometric wallpapers, which worked well with Mid Century Modern furniture with tan, gold and pink accents, linking and harmonising the whole flat with the same palette.  It was great to bring this flat back to life updating in a 60s style and paying homage to the era.  Fun mid-century modern interior!
