Japandi Edwardian mix, Altrincham

Black bespoke kitchen
wrap around extension

Mika is Japanese married to Richard, living in Cheshire.  Their Edwardian home has recently undergone a renovation with a wrap around extension on the back and side elevation.   This created a difference in floor levels at the back of the house as the extension is raised over the garden with a floor to ceiling window along the back elevation.  This space is ideal for a stunning Japandi style kitchen, sitting, dining and mezzanine WFH space with a garden wall between the two levels.  The Edwardian period charm in still evident in the front living room and hallway and both have been modernised to complement the Japandi wrap around extension.

Mika wanted a bespoke black kitchen with marble worktops, splashback and dark walnut.  Japandi style decor in black and white, harmonised with pale ash parquet flooring and complementary low profile furniture in the dining and sitting area.  The simple, pared back style really suits the space and the floor to ceiling Crittal windows show off the architectural space as a backdrop to kitchen, living area and the inspirational WFH mezzanine to great advantage.  Great combination of styles, Edwardian and Japandi!
