Modern Asian, simple lines balance and harmony

Nicola's home story started in Singapore where she met her husband Steve.  They returned to UK after 6 years with a collection of wonderful ethnic furniture, lamps and accessories collected on their global travels.  They found a modern, spacious house in a perfect setting on the outskirts of Frome.  Nicola asked me to help edit and update her living room furniture and decor, keeping the theme, but giving the room an update.  The focal points of the room were a stone fireplace and a favourite artwork.  It seemed natural to adopt a modern Asian style so that Nicola could show off all her treasures.

The key to modern Asian style is neutral tones, simple lines and natural objects.  So we set about balancing a vibrant green seagrass wallpaper with neutral decor and contemporary seating, carefully editing Nicola's treasures to ensure each piece looked perfect in its own display space.  The most important element in Asian decor is to create a sense of harmony, if your room feels balanced it is more likely you will feel the same.  Lovely project!
