DESIGN BRIEF, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Jodie is a busy Trader working in the City needing help to furnish and decorate her first starter home, a 2 bed flat in Empress Works, Hackney. The complex is designed in an industrial style with large warehouse style windows and exposed concrete.
It also comes with a resident's roof terrace overlooking the Regents Canal and cityscape views. But like most new builds after viewing the show h
ome your new space looks empty and cheerless. As we got to know Jodie and her style and what she wanted to achieve, it was important to her to feel cosy and homely from the start.
Industrial architecture, but
warm and welcoming!

As the internal structure had a concrete finish and Crittal styles windows, we were expecting Jodie to go for an industrial style, but she completely surprised us by briefing us with mid-century modern, picking out classic furniture in vibrant colours. Jodie loved the playfulness of mid-century and it was important for her to feel safe, warm and cosy and she wanted friends and visitors to feel the same, so comfy, squishy chairs an essential.
Finishing touches were accent lighting, rugs, artwork, translucent blinds to filter daylight and linen curtains to sweep over at night. The floor to ceiling windows wrapped around the balcony showing off the stunning city views and an industrial landscape. Stunning during the day and night!

Jodie's review
"We discovered Annie through internet search, looking for a designer to help with ideas and concepts for my daughter's first flat in London.
From the moment we interacted with her, she was just amazing and we knew we had made the right choice.
Super friendly and helpful and had some wonderful ideas. Her and her team were of immense help and at all times were very efficient, produced some great work and were excellent value.
I couldn't recommend her enough for a project such as ours, we would most definitely use her again."
