Catherine is a busy Bristol professional renovating a 2 bed 1960s flat. Untouched for over 40 years. Our first meeting at the flat was just before lock down. Catherine asked for my help with décor and furnishings and we were both excited about the project.

I was immediately struck by Catherine’s focus and determination. Progress was going well. The builders had finished ripping out the ancient electrics and wall plaster. The flat was now a blank canvas ready to be regenerated for its lovely new owner.

Then the virus struck, the builders downed tools (no fault of their own) and everything stopped.

If you renovate you know about the constant glitches and hold-ups. Resolving frequent problems is part of the process. But this was different. Who knows when life will return to normal?

Determined not to stop momentum, Catherine and I agreed to carry on remotely. I shared my digital interior images of the flat’s exact space, complete with a cohesive décor scheme, on regular Zoom meetings. We have now 95% finished the living room, nearly completed the kitchen and bathroom, just the 2 bedrooms to go.

We’ll finish the project shortly, so that when the builders return Catherine has a complete set of detailed digital room templates ready for the builders to implement.

Job done and no miscommunication with the trades when they return, on exactly Catherine wants to be done!

Do you need help to maintain momentum with your project? Get ready for when the builders resume work with some digital story telling. Get in touch!
